getting through life with creativity

You are my world (a personal thank you letter).

I want to share something very personal with you.

The other day I received a private message on Instagram. It was from a person who wanted to buy one of my original animal drawings. I haven't had many enquiries recently so I was pretty excited over this and spent the rest of that evening revelling in my unexpected success!

The next morning I woke up to another message on Insta, from a person enquiring about portrait drawings. This will be my first commission since beginning my Canada-trip and I immediately went into my little "creative-business-bubble" - fantasising about the different ways I could package the artwork for shipping, all the freebies and cute surprises I could give them...and thinking of ways to find more lovely people to offer my service to!

This little slice of acknowledgement and attention to my work is literally all I've thought about for the last few days. It gave me a much-needed boost of confidence and reminds me that all the hard work is worth it. I have a warm, tingling sensation in my heart that runs down to my stomach and my brain feels foggy with joy - that's honestly the best way I can describe it.

These sorts of moments fill me with optimism and belief that there's more to come. Especially in a time like now when I have no job or secure income coming in - this is a light in the darkness (to put it dramatically).

This is what happens when you support small businesses and individuals. This is the effect YOU can personally have on someone's day and their life. Not only does your support help them bring food to the table AND continue to do their work, it can also pull them up from moments of self-doubt and make them feel valued. I am so grateful to everyone who has bought artwork from me, told others about me or supported me in any way possible - because you are the wind beneath my wings! You are the reason I want to get better and do more.

When you support an individual or a small business, you are impacting their life in a big way - you're not just a number adding to their already-earned fortune. You help make things happen.

I just wanted to share that with you and remind you of the power you have.

No matter what you do: whether you like my posts, share my name with others or buy my work THANK YOU for being there - I promise to continue doing my best to give you everything you want in return for your support.

I am currently open for commissions, so if you'd like to order a portrait drawing please get in touch - they are ideal to decorate your home with, or to give as gifts (I am already taking orders for CHRISTMAS, so get in quick)!

Just email: .

Lots of love,
